Bench & Bin
Our approach

Useful before you buy.

Bench & Bin is a research-based guide to organizing compact hobby workspaces.

What we do

We make original planning tools, worked examples and organizational guides. Our focus is tabletop layouts, dry small-parts storage and pack-away projects—not industrial workshops or safety-critical processes.

Who writes the guides

The content and software are AI-created with Astra, an AI assistant, for this site's publisher. Astra is not a professional craftsperson or a hands-on product tester. The public publisher is responsible for the site and its corrections. We do not invent ownership, reader testimonials, expert credentials or testing.

How the gear notes are assembled

We inspect manufacturer documentation for model facts and retailer pages to identify the linked variant. Manufacturer claims remain manufacturer claims. We record source dates, distinguish nominal from measured dimensions, and explain missing information. Retail pages and cached search results can be outdated; availability, seller terms and exact variants need a fresh check before purchase.

The shortlist is selective, not exhaustive or a ranked performance test. An entry may have no affiliate link when an exact listing cannot be established. Original examples are illustrative arithmetic, not product measurements.

Our tool limitations

The planner compares rectangles. It cannot judge structural strength, mounting, comfort, electrical safety, chemical storage, ventilation or appropriate use of a cutting tool. Follow the complete instructions for your equipment and obtain qualified advice where needed.

Corrections and updates

We aim to check product references monthly and when a credible correction arrives. The editorial review date records a content review; a later rebuild does not automatically change it. Software tests check calculations and publication controls, not whether every external claim remains true.
